“What about…?=How about…?”意为“……怎么样？……好吗？”，其中about为介词，后跟名词、代词或动名词。
1.询问情况或打听消息。
例句I have two brothers. What about you?我有两个哥哥。你呢？
2.向对方提出建议或请求，相当于“Would you like…?”。其常用的肯定答语为“OK!/All right./Good idea./I think so.”等，否定答语为“Sorry, I…/I’m afraid not.”等。
例句—What about eating bread for breakfast?早餐吃面包怎么样？
—Good idea./Sorry, I don’t like bread.好主意。/对不起，我不喜欢面包。
